
Anna Padden is a licensed independent social worker who specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for children, adolescents, and young adults experiencing anxiety and mood disorders. She also has training and interest in perinatal mental health, supporting individuals through pregnancy, postpartum, and early parenthood. She is passionate about helping clients navigate the emotional shifts that can occur during this time, including anxiety, mood changes, and challenges related to self-compassion and support systems. She incorporates evidence-based approaches to help clients build coping skills, strengthen relationships, and feel more grounded and confident in their transition to parenthood. She has worked across a range of clinical settings, including schools, residential treatment programs, outpatient clinics, and in-home services. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW).
Ms. Padden earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire and her Master of Social Work from Simmons University. She completed her first clinical training practicum at Needham High School, where she provided crisis intervention and therapeutic support to adolescents navigating social and emotional challenges. In this role, she utilized evidence-based approaches including CBT and DBT, participated in IEP meetings, and facilitated an after-school DBT skills group. She completed her second clinical practicum at the Family Health Center of Worcester, where she provided individual psychotherapy and developed culturally responsive, collaborative treatment plans for clients and their families.
Prior to joining The Concord Center, Ms. Padden worked as a clinical social worker at McLean Hospital’s 3East Residential DBT Program. In this role, she collaborated with the admissions team and provided both individual and group DBT treatment within the residential milieu. Before earning her MSW, she also served as a Residential Counselor and Clinical Educator on the 3East unit, where she developed DBT-based classroom curricula and provided skills coaching for residents during periods of acute distress.
