Paranoia is a condition where a person experiences a pervasive mistrust and suspiciousness of others. They often believe, without sufficient evidence, that others are attempting to harm them. They may persist in this belief despite no one else around them sharing it. They may frequently question the loyalty and honesty of their friends. This mistrust may lead the person to isolate from others. In mild cases, a person may still be able to function well despite their mistrust. Paranoia can range from mild extreme distrust. Paranoia is involved in several mental disorders.
