
Associate Director of Training
Sophie Termyn is a licensed independent clinical social worker who specializes in cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) for children, adolescents and young adults with anxiety, OCD, and depression. She also has extensive experience in evidence-based parent coaching for parents of children with anxiety, OCD, and behavioral challenges. She is trained in a variety of evidence-based treatments, including the Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE – including ARFID and Failure to Launch applications) and Parent-Child Interaction Therapy for Selective Mutism (PCIT-SM). She is the Team Leader and an adolescent and parent coach for the Accelerated Outpatient Program at The Concord Center.
Ms. Termyn graduated from Bates College with a B.A. in Psychology and minor in Spanish. She received her MSW in clinical social work from Boston University, with a concentration in children, youth & families. She completed her advanced clinical training practicum at the Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders (CARD). There, she provided individual and group CBT to children and adolescents with depression and anxiety disorders, parent coaching and individual and intensive group treatment to young children with selective mutism.
Ms. Termyn has worked in a variety of settings, including outpatient, school, and day treatment. Prior to joining The Concord Center, Ms. Termyn worked as a school-based psychotherapist for The Home for Little Wanderers. In this role, Ms. Termyn engaged middle school students coping with anxiety, depression, and trauma in CBT. Ms. Termyn joined The Concord Center team in 2020.
Ms. Termyn is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW), Anxiety and Depression Association of America (ADAA), and International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).
